Getting older can be a painful experience depending on the efforts out forth to ensure a healthy and productive lifestyle.Aging is a major issue for people across the world. Whether you're worried about your weight picking up, a lack of sex drive or even unending infections, the way to healthy aging is a well-rounded life.
Eating an abundance of healthy foods with variety, continue working the brain, and incorporating physical movement into your day to day routine can go far toward maintaining healthy habits as we age. People in the U.S. are living longer than ever before. Many seniors live active and healthy lives. But there's no getting around one thing: as we age, our bodies and minds change (Seniors, 2016). There are choices that can be made to maintain a healthy life as we age:
-Developing or maintaining a balanced diet
-Keeping your mind and body active
-Reconsider stopping smoking
-Receive regular checkups
-Practice safety habits to avoid accidents and prevent falls
It's never past the point where it is possible to settle in a more beneficial way of life decisions. Most elders invest years anticipating a stable retirement. When you're preparing for your retirement, you're committed to gaining improvement, and there's much you can do to guarantee a stable retirement.
According to the CDC, older adults should start by learning what to expect as they get older (Aging, 2016). It's important for them to understand the changes that they will go through like changes in muscle mass, sex drive, vision, and cardiovascular health. The goal of retirement should be to live and enjoy the things that you could not while working.
Depression, anxiety, addiction, and multiple mental health issues should never be considered as being a normal part of aging. When left untreated, they can lead to fatigue, illness, and even suicide. According to the CDC, "One in every four adults experiences a type of mental disorder like anxiety, depression, or dementia and predicted to double to by 2030 (2)."

YOLO
Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave thinking you will entire in a attractive and perfectly preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, Snickers in the right hand, Tequila in the other, body THOROUGHLLLY used up......... totally worn out YELLING "GOD DAMN what a ride!" Why enjoy the ride you ask?
-We can enjoy life. -We make the most of what we have. -We appreciate people. -We are at home in the world. -We have less to prove. -We have strong priorities. -We accept our moods. We know that life is rich with an abundance of emotion.
Aging is scary, but it can also be the most rewarding experience of your life. Not many people have the opportunity to live long enough to watch the world develop. The world around us can become the most interesting factor within our lives. According to Debra Olliver, writer for the Huffington Post, "As we age, we sense the clock winding down and our attention shifts to savoring the time that is left, focusing ... on depth of experience, closeness, a smaller set of goals, and a highly selected group of loved ones. This change in perspective seems to bring with it a new way of evaluating what is worth one's time, attention, worry, or wrath (Olliver, 2015)." The feelings we develop about our age will determine how you chose to live your life. Some people decide to stand by and watch the world develop while others chose to engage in the developments.
Some view life differently and figure that happiness comes from being youthful and guarded. However, studies have shown that there are other causations for the happiness we develop. Carstensen, who is the director of the Stanford Centers of Longevity, states that older people experience fewer negative emotions and manage them better than people in their 20s and 30s. When negative feelings do arise, she adds, "they don't linger the way they do in the young. Many people, even social scientists, are shocked by these findings (2)." This is very interesting but it is understood that older people would be less emotional. They've experienced more and look at situations a lot differently in the sense of worth and value.
